MenuSparks is a recipe generation and menu optimization platform for restaurants. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
When you use MenuSparks, we may collect the following:
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (or credentials via Google sign-in).
- Restaurant details — restaurant name, cuisine type, dietary preferences, and ingredient lists you provide when generating recipes.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, recipes generated, and general interaction patterns that help us improve the product.
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never store your full credit card number on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the MenuSparks service.
- To personalize recipe recommendations based on your restaurant profile and preferences.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send important service updates (we keep these minimal and relevant).
- To analyze aggregate usage patterns so we can make the product better for everyone.
We do not sell your personal information. Period.
Cookies
We use cookies strictly for session authentication and keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Third-Party Services
We work with a small number of trusted third parties to operate the service:
- Google OAuth — for secure sign-in. Google receives only the authentication data necessary to verify your identity.
- Stripe — for payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI compliance.
- Recipe generation engine — the ingredients and preferences you provide are sent to our recipe engine to generate results. This data is used solely to produce your recipes and is not retained by the engine for other purposes.
Data Retention
We retain your account data and saved recipes for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregate usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Delete — request that we delete your account and associated data.
- Export — download your saved recipes and account information.
- Correct — update or fix any inaccurate information in your profile.

Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the site. Your continued use of MenuSparks after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
